In February, my friend Britt made his triumphant return to the ring to fight in a exhibition bout before the state of Alabama’s first pro boxing card, which culminated in a match featuring Tuscaloosa native and Olympic bronze medal winner Deontay Wilder.

Britt, Alabama’s 2010 Golden Gloves winner in the 165-pound division, took on Hoss Williams, a fellow Skyy Boxing Club boxer who went on to win the 2011 Golden Gloves.

Around 2,000 people crammed into Shelton State Community College’s gym in Tuscaloosa to catch the fights, and I made sure I was among them. Here’s my video of Britt Turner vs. Hoss Williams:
